He wrote that depression and anxiety are our risk of being an intelligent human. It reminds my counseling session with a college student who had anxiety that rooted in her overthinking. Then, I said to her that the overthinking was a sign of intelligent people. Unfortunately, she was unaware of this mechanism. therefore the thought was out of control and overwhelming. It went in an undefined direction and confusing her. As Matt's reflection, the thing we need to do is learn how to live with it conciously. We need to be more attentive to ourselves.
